CE South Texas – IS Level (i-Vu Controls) – In Person – Houston, TX
This course is designed to teach techs to properly download and configure i-Vu controls as well as setting and i-Vu server.
Class Description – Field Applied:
This course will cover the UC, XP, UC Open, field installed UPC and AppController. This course is not dedicated to
any HVAC system type. This course will focus on products installation, configuration, customer programming
language and a detailed understanding of the various algorithms that can be applied to these type controllers. The
student will utilize hands-on exercises using each of the controllers, EquipmentBuilder, Snap and Field Assistant.
Upon completion of the course, student will be able to:
1. Create a customer application for a UPC to interface to a CCN controller using Snap or EquipmentBuilder
2. Understand the usage of the different EquipmentBuilder files
3. Install and configure EquipmentBuilder equipment to interface with ancillary hardware
4. Understand the different usages of the Snap microblocks
5. Create a custom application using Snap for a UC, UC-XP or AppController to interface with ancillary hardware.
6. Use Field Assistant to interface with all controllers
Class Description – User Interface:
This class provides the participant with the skill needed to set-up, start up, and operate an i-Vu Standard or Plus
Server. The participant will learn basic IP networking to address the server and various routers associated with the
system. The participant will learn how to add a building floor plan and various links to a building floor plan using
ViewBuilder. The participant will learn how to modify and set up various methods of time of day scheduling, set
points, set up of alarms, various displays of system information including using real time graphic displays. Basic
alarm management and operation including set-up, acknowledging, and deleting of alarms this includes the setup the
Alarm Notification Client software. Participant will also learn to setup trends and reports in i-Vu.
Upon completion of the course, student will be able to:
Understand basic IP networking
Discover routers and controllers using i-Vu
Create and install area graphics into i-Vu
Setup system schedules, trends, alarms and reports
Day 1 – 8 Hours – 8am – 4pm
Day 2 – 8 Hours – 8am – 4pm
Day 3 – 8 Hours – 8am – 4 pm
Total – 24 Hours
