This course is designed to teach techs to properly wire and configure low tonnage Carrier RTU’s and VVT/VAV controls

Class Description – VVT:

This class provides the participant with the skills needed to install, wire and configure a VVT System. Student will
learn proper design, application, installation, configuration, start-up and wiring of a VVT System using the RTU-Open,
VVT Zone and VVT Bypass controllers. This class also includes discussion about design and installation of a BACnet
network relating to a VVT System.

Upon completion of the course, student will be able to:

1. Identify the components of a VVT system
2. Design a system network layout for a typical VVT system
3. Configure appropriate Linkage parameters to commission a system
4. Determine what configuration essentials are required for VVT system operation
5. Setup local schedules, access trends and view alarms
6. Use Field Assistant and i-Vu software to interface with all controllers

Class Description – VAV:

This class provides the participant with the skills needed to install, wire and configure a VAV System. Student will
learn proper design, application, installation, configuration, start-up and wiring of a VAV System using the UC-XP,
UPC and VAV Zone. This class also includes discussion about design and installation of a BACnet network relating to
a VAV System.

Upon completion of the course, student will be able to:

1. Identify the components of a VAV system
2. Design a system network layout for a typical VAV system
3. Use Equipment Builder to configure UC-X controller to run the 39M VAV AHU application
4. Configure appropriate Linkage parameters to commission a system
5. Determine what configuration essentials are required for VAV system operation
6. Setup local schedules, access trends and view alarms
7. Use Field Assistant to interface with all controllers

Day 1 – 8 Hours – 8am – 4pm

Day 2 – 8 Hours – 8am – 4pm

Day 3 – 8 Hours – 8am – 4pm

Total 24 Hours

There is a maximum of 16 students per class and this will fill up quickly. Students are required to bring a
laptop with Windows 7,8Pro or 10Pro.
